Mandatory 2-Hour In-Service Tuesday, December 15, 2015 - 1:30 to 3:30 pm EST
2 Contact Hours The Florida Board of Nursing passed a new rule to incorporate a requirement of continuing education on the laws and rules that govern the practice of nursing in Florida for Licensed Practical Nurses, Registered Nurses, Clinical Nurse Specialists and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners. Rule 64B9-5.013 became effective April 21, 2013. Beginning with the biennium ending in 2015, each nursing licensee must complete a two hour course on the laws and rules that govern the practice of nursing in Florida. Learner Objectives:
By the completion of the presentation, attendees will be able to: 1) Describe the legislative intent of the Nurse Practice Act.
2) Identify specific laws and rules which govern the practice of nursing in Florida.
3) Explain the levels of nursing practice in the State of Florida and the general scope of practice which accompanies each level.
4) Discuss the continuing education requirements for nursing license renewal in Florida.
5) Illustrate, through case study, actions which represent violations of the Nurse Practice Act.
6) Summarize the disciplinary process and IPN.
7) Specify methodologies which the professional nurse can adopt for career maintenance and development within the limits of the law. Target Audience:
This educational webinar is appropriate for all licensed nurses.
Registration Fee: Member 1st Registrant - $50 and $40 for Additional Registrants.
$65 for nonmembers. Continuing Education Credit:
LeadingAge Florida is providing two (2) contact hours of credit for nurses licensed in the State of Florida.
Please note: You must attend the entire session to receive CEUs or a certificate of attendance.

Substitutions are welcome by December 9, 2015 via fax or email. A $25 administrative fee will be charged to all cancellations. No refunds for cancellations will be made after December 9, 2015. No refunds for failure to log-in at the time of the event.
