This session provides a comprehensive, compliance-focused overview of developing and implementing effective EIV Policies and Procedures, including required components, staff responsibilities, and critical HOTMA updates. Participants will learn how to properly structure policies, safeguard sensitive data, and align EIV processes with HUD requirements while avoiding common Management and Occupancy Review (MOR) findings. The session also covers required staff documentation, user access requirements, and best practices for maintaining compliance across all aspects of EIV usage.
Presented by: Rhanda Mckown, Director of Affordable Housing at LeadingAge Southeast Rhanda McKown is an affordable housing professional with over 25 years of industry experience. She is currently Director of Affordable Housing for LeadingAge Southeast supporting senior (55+) property organizations in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Having spent 15 years working for a Performance Based Contract Administrator conducting Management and Occupancy Reviews, her technical expertise also includes Auto OCAF rent adjustments, Special Claims, Budget Based Rent Adjustments, and contract renewals. She has deep experience with HUD multifamily housing programs and specializes in properties subject to HUD Handbook 4350.3. Rhanda is nationally recognized for designing and leading high impact educational programs. She serves on her local Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and previously worked at the Florida Housing Finance Corporation as Director of the Affordable Housing Study Commission and developing portions of the agency’s records retention program.

By the end of this training, participants will be able to: - Identify all required components of compliant EIV Policies and Procedures, including report usage, timing, and documentation standards.
- Explain HOTMA-related changes impacting EIV processes, including report frequency and verification requirements.
- Apply HUD requirements for safeguarding EIV data, including technical, administrative, and physical security measures.
- Determine required staff documentation, access levels, and certification requirements for EIV system users.
- Recognize common MOR findings related to EIV and implement strategies to avoid compliance deficiencies.

opportunity to attend Aging Services programs and education events for
those that otherwise would be unable to participate because of financial
limitations. Scholarships are awarded to members who meet certain
