COMPREHENSIVE
Fair Housing Practitioner* (4 hours)
This course provides a foundational understanding of various fair housing laws and the regulations surrounding them. This is appropriate for new hires, or for emerging professionals who are relatively new to occupancy-centered career roles and need an understanding of how the laws affect day-to-day interactions with residents.
Advanced Fair Housing Practitioner* (8 hours)
The first four hours of this course include the curriculum from Fair Housing Practitioner certificate. This course is designed for persons who desire a deeper understanding of the complexities of fair housing laws and regulations, or have a career-based need for a higher level of mastery. This course is especially beneficial for 504 Coordinators and decision-makers involved in granting or denying reasonable accommodations. This is a great certificate to achieve for anyone desiring entry into positions needing specialized knowledge in fair housing and disability-related occupancy scenarios.
*Both the Fair Housing Practitioner and Advanced Fair Housing Practitioner certificates cover the Fair Housing for Maintenance course content.
SPECIALIST
Fair Housing Maintenance Operations Specialist (30 minutes)
This stand-alone course is for dedicated maintenance staff. It is designed to explore the specific effects that fair housing laws and regulations have on the maintenance program at a property. It is appropriate for dedicated maintenance staff and office staff who work with maintenance programs as part of their duties. The program addresses managing vendors, harassment, dealing with residents, and other topics related to the provision of maintenance services.
Fair Housing Maintenance Office Specialist (30 minutes)

It is designed to explore the specific effects that fair housing laws and regulations have on the maintenance program at a property. It is appropriate for dedicated maintenance staff and office staff who work with maintenance programs as part of their duties. EXPERIENCED
Fair Housing Annual Refresher (1 hour)
This course is suited for persons who require an annual fair housing education course as part of their employment, or as part of another designation or credential. The Refresher includes a review of recent fair housing court cases as well as a look ahead for changes to fair housing laws or regulations going into effect. Instructors dive into fair housing trends and cover anticipatory ways to be prepared for the upcoming year.

Doug Chasick, CPM®, CAPS, Adv. RAM, SLE, That Fair Housing Guy™, is the former President of the Fair Housing Institute, Inc. With more than 49 years of investment real estate experience, he began as the Resident Manager of a 524-unit apartment property and has been the President or CEO of five real estate companies, responsible for portfolios of over 28,000 apartments.
Doug was awarded his CPM® in 1979 and was a member of the IREM National Faculty for eight years. A Senior Instructor member of the NAAEI Faculty, he leads the Advanced Facilitator Training course, is the co-author of “Outstanding Facilitation Techniques”, and a co-author of the joint IREM & NAAEI “Fair Housing and Beyond” course. He is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Florida, a licensed Expert Fair Housing Instructor in the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the recipient of the NAAEI Apartment Career & Education award.
