Scott Boord Career Development Scholarship Program

LeadingAge Southeast's scholarship program is named for Past Chair Scott Boord, in honor of his commitment to the career enhancement and mentoring of our members. The purpose of the scholarship is to enrich the understanding and skills of member community staff in order to improve the quality of life and the quality of care provided by LeadingAge Southeast member organizations.

Scholarship funds are awarded to members to participate in programs like our Annual Convention & Exposition, Legislative Days: Advocacy in Action, Joint Training, and other educational and professional development events held throughout the year. Applications will be considered on a first come, first serve basis until the application deadline or until funds are exhausted.

2025 Legislative Days: Advocacy in Action: February 28, 2025

Leadership Academy Class of 2026: March 28, 2025

62nd Annual Convention & Exposition: June 13, 2025

All other program applications must be received no later than 30 days prior to the event.

Letter of Support
The Scholarship Selection Committee requires a letter of support from the applicant's supervisor or administrator/manager. The letter should be no more than two pages in length and include an introduction with the supervisor's name and relationship to the applicant; reasons why the applicant is deserving of this scholarship; and how the applicant will benefit from attending this event.
