Hotel Reservations:
LeadingAge Florida’s special group rate is $162 per night single/double occupancy for a standard room, plus a daily $10 resort fee (plus tax if applicable). Hotel reservations must be made by July 3, 2016. Rooms at the group rate are subject to availability. To use your community’s tax exempt status, please provide a copy of your tax exempt form upon check in at the hotel.

LeadingAge Florida invites you to attend our 52nd Annual Convention and Exposition – June 29 - July 2, 2015 at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center. This is your annual opportunity to share cutting-edge information and expertise with your colleagues. The convention will feature an array of speakers/instructors with the knowledge to assist you in the pursuit of excellence.
This year’s program lineup features exciting new sessions:
- KEYNOTE "Ride For YOUR Brand" – Robert Stevenson, CEO, Seeking Excellence – Robert is one of the most widely sought after speakers in the world today as well as a best-selling author. He has owned five companies and sold internationally in over twenty countries. Robert is a man who has lived his experiences, not just studied them and he incorporates his vast knowledge into each of his custom designed programs. Over two million people have benefited from his powerful, practical, compelling and thought provoking programs. Robert is the best-selling author of “How to Soar Like an Eagle in a World Full of Turkeys.”
- GENERAL SESSION "Be The Voice" – Larry Minnix, Jr., President/CEO, LeadingAge – For more than 45 years, Minnix has been a passionate advocate in not-for-profit aging services. During his 13 years as the LeadingAge president, he has helped to advance a leadership agenda that includes quality improvement, technology, innovation, financing and leadership development. He has been recognized by peers like the National Council on Aging, North Texas State University and the Non-Profit Times. He is a frequent speaker and writer and serves on the boards of important organizations like the Long-Term Quality Alliance, Generations United and Advance CLASS.
- PLENARY SESSION – Michael A. Gillette, Ph.D., President, Bioethical Services of Virginia – Dr. Gillette has helped a wide variety of organizations develop medical ethics programs, working with hospitals, long-term care facilities, medical schools, mental health facilities, community-based service providers and intellectual disabilities facilities. In addition to supporting on-going contracts, he is a dynamic speaker, often presenting at seminars and conferences or guest lecturing at universities around the country.
- AN AMERICAN BIRTHDAY PARTY – Time to relax and come to a big birthday party for America!! Complete with great food and beverage this will be a patriotic evening not to be missed. There will be music, reenactments and fun. Enjoy a relaxed networking evening with friends and colleagues. Casual or casual dressy if you like, is the dress code, but make sure it’s Red, White, and Blue in honor of the 4th of July. There will be drawings for some very nice door prizes and lots of good times. Don’t miss this!

LeadingAge Florida is an approved provider for Nursing Home Administrators (#FNHAP-18), Nurses (#FBN-2192), and Clinical Social Workers (#BAP-684).
Earn over 19.5hours of continuing education by attending the Full Convention. The total number of CEUs offered in this year's convention program is 69.
Monday, June 29 – Earn up to 6.0 hours
Tuesday, June 30 – Earn up to 5.75 hours
Wednesday, July 1 – Earn up to 4.25 hours
Thursday, July 2 – Earn up to 3.5 hours
Continuing education credits with the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) and National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) will be provided for select courses.
Our convention includes a variety of educational sessions for affordable housing, CCRCs/retirement communities, nursing homes, assisted living, and home and community-based service providers.
In addition, awards and honors are presented and ideas are exchanged. Members can also participate in our annual membership meeting. While we work hard, there is also time for play (and networking), from a “fun night” to a golf tournament. And that’s not to mention the opportunity to snag great deals at our silent auction (a fundraiser for our scholarship program) and win prizes at the exposition and other events!
