LeadingAge Southeast membership is governed by the association's Bylaws. Organizations and individuals wishing to become LeadingAge Southeast members must agree to follow the LeadingAge Southeast Code of Ethics. Membership Categories:
Community Membership Application – This category of membership is available to assisted living, HUD housing, independent living, nursing home facilities, and retirement housing community providers in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.
Interim/Under Construction Community Membership Application – This category of membership is available to assisted living, HUD housing, independent living, nursing home facilities, and retirement housing community providers in Florida, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi, whose communities are currently under construction.
Associate Member Organizations and Individuals - This category of membership is available to individuals who are not working for member communities, retired/inactive administrators of member communities, Code Section 501(c)(3) aging network organizations, home and community based service providers, member community residents, and member community resident councils and their members.
Business Associate Members - This category of membership is available to organizations that do not qualify for membership under the above three categories. Typically, these are companies that provide support services and products to Regular and Associate LeadingAge Southeast members. Student Members - This category of membership is available to you must be currently enrolled in a College or University health care field and not employed full-time by an eligible long-term care community. Students applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Advocacy
- LeadingAge Southeast and LeadingAge provide representation for their members by advocating their interests on state and national issues. LeadingAge Southeast maintains a strong presence with state regulatory agencies, and participates on regulatory and legislative meetings, workshops, and task forces. LeadingAge Southeast's staff provide expert opinions and testimony at these events and ensure that the mission of LeadingAge Southeast members is understood by policy makers. - LeadingAge Southeast and LeadingAge provide numerous educational seminars and workshops throughout the year, including legislative and annual conventions, allowing participants an opportunity to earn continuing education credits and attend at special member rates. - Members have an opportunity to participate on various state and national committees, LeadingAge Southeast’s Board of Trustees, LeadingAge Southeast committees, task forces, ad hoc and interest groups and LeadingAge's House of Delegates. There are also networking opportunities with colleagues through regional meetings, the annual convention, educational seminars, workshops, and LeadingAge Southeast web forums.
