Who We Are
Established in 1963 as a Florida not-for-profit corporation, LeadingAge Florida & Alabama is the southeast's leading advocate for high-quality senior living and care. We are committed to assisting members in achieving excellence as providers, businesses, and employers. To accomplish this goal, the Association provides up-to-date regulatory information, a wide variety of educational opportunities, representation before the legislature and government agencies, group purchasing services, and opportunities for networking with peers.
The Association is comprised of more than 250 mission-driven communities representing more than 500 facilities and more than 140 business associates.
Intended Audience
The LeadingAge Florida & Alabama 61st Annual Convention & Exposition will be held in Orlando, July 15-17, 2024. Our convention is attended by leaders from across the continuum of aging services. We convene hundreds of CEOs, administrators, executive team members and their staff for this unparalleled opportunity to learn, network and grow.
Education sessions are suited for knowledgeable C-suite executives; directors of nursing; NH & AL Administrators; affordable housing owner and agent staff including executives and onsite management; Service Coordinators working on HUD elderly properties; finance, social work, rehabilitation, human resources, recreation & activities, dietary, and admissions staff.
Key staff of all types of aging services providers will attend, including skilled nursing facilities, affordable senior housing, continuing care/life plan retirement communities, and assisted living facilities.
Who We Need
LeadingAge Florida & Alabama seeks industry professionals and thought leaders with knowledge and experience in the field of senior services and aging to share their expertise with our audience. You are invited to submit a proposal for engaging, topical educational sessions relevant to the continuum of aging services and practices.
Our expert presenters deliver high-quality, insightful content and innovative perspectives on the new frontier of aging. This is your chance to share innovative and effective models, best practices, cutting edge research, breaking updates, and critical information, providing your colleagues and/or clients with new approaches and solutions to address the issues currently confronting them.

Convention Theme: ELEVATE
Advance, Transform, ELEVATE. The Senior Living landscape will serve more than 80 million aging adults by 2040. Aging services professionals are looking to the future and how they can elevate their services to deliver excellence in the industry. How will you distinguish yourself and ELEVATE your life?
Speakers will join our community of aging services professionals at the 61st Annual LeadingAge Florida & Alabama Convention and Exposition in Orlando as we explore the transformational possibilities for senior care. We encourage you to weave this year's theme into your presentation submissions.

- Read all instructions.
- Develop your proposal description and review it carefully before beginning the online form.
- Follow prompts and complete all fields.
- Submit your proposal by 11:45pm EST on Friday, October 20, 2023.

Topics
Based on consistent attendee feedback, LeadingAge Florida & Alabama is seeking a broad range of submissions. We are especially interested in submissions which include suggested strategies, resources, recommendations, and/or examples. Preference will be given to the topics found here.
Content
The availability of earning CE credit is important to our members and we take session content very seriously. Sessions must be no less than 60 minutes, and consist of 50-55 minutes of educational content and Q&A for 5-10 minutes following the presentation. Sessions are intended to educate/support learning and therefore should not sell, promote, or pitch any specific product or service.
Selection
Preference will be given to submissions for sessions that give information with practical, real-world application in the field. Priority will be given to submissions which feature provider communities as presenters.
All submissions will be reviewed and evaluated by the Education Committee and LeadingAge Florida & Alabama staff based on the criteria below. Please ensure your submission provides adequate information and details to evaluate these areas:
- Relevance and timeliness of the topic.
- Practical and replicable concepts for aging services providers.
- Essential, high impact information, current issues and concepts important to aging services providers.
- Clear, concise, well organized, and grammatically sound.
- Instructional method or strategy to implement.
- Opportunity for participants to learn actively and engage with participatory activities, discussions, and/or a question and answer period.
- Creative, cutting edge, innovative or ambitious ideas or approach to a common issue.
